I so get where you’re coming from as I’ve totally been there! In fact, while getting my holistic health care business off the ground, there was literally a time where it was normal for me to work through the night, take clients whenever they wanted to come in and I literally couldn’t walk for more than 20 minutes without feeling exhausted on my time off.

I didn’t have a regular exercise routine, my sleep was a wreck, I was putting off all my passion projects and I barely made time to tend to my personal relationships.

I was drained, I was agitated, I was sad, overworked, reactive, underboundaried, over-caffeinated, and my candle was burnt at both ends!

My digestion, blood sugar, sleeping patterns, energy, mood and weight fluctuations ... were all over the place.

My time management skills were not working as they “should” have and I was confused on where to begin when it came to saying “no.” to others and saying “yes.” to myself.

But, then I figured some major things out. I realized self-care  wasn’t about what I did, but, how I did it.

 

Self-care wasn’t about the “right” food choice, meditation practice, time management system, or, routine, but my relationship to myself.

Self-care wasn't about what worked for my bestie, my neighbor, or that latest Pinterest post. It wasn’t about the perfect massage, or, exercise routine …
